The tooth preparation is photographed with a 3-D intraoral camera and then using the 3-D software and database, the new crown, veneer or Porcelain Inlay is designed and then manufactured from a porcelain block in a 3D milling Unit at chairside. All this is achieved in minutes without any impressions of the mouth or temporary restorations, eliminating the need for a second visit.

Dr Bijlani designs Bespoke Implant crowns also at chairside and then the CEREC milling unit produces these units which can then be glazed with a varnish in a furnace before cementation, to achieve an aesthetic result in One sitting. Smile makeover with Veneers

What are dental veneers?
Dental veneers are a permanent, effective and pain-free way of improving the aesthetic appearance and function of one’s teeth. A very minimal amount of tooth is removed and the process is relatively non destructive compared to tooth crowns. Dental veneers consist of wafer-thin pieces of porcelain, composite bonding or ceramic, which are bonded to the front surface of the teeth to improve their aesthetic appearance.

Are dental veneers suitable for you?
Every patient has different needs, so to give you a definitive answer we would advise you to have a consultation with Dr Monica Bijlani at our state-of-the-art clinic. Dental veneers are a permanent and versatile relatively non-invasive treatment, which is why the procedure has seen a large growth in popularity over the years. Below are some reasons to have veneers:

Chipped teeth: Teeth that have been damaged through injuries, decay or accidents can be repaired with dental veneers.
Worn teeth: Dental veneers can be used to effectively restore the natural shape of worn teeth.
Discoloured teeth: Dental veneers can be the ideal option when the case is more complex and the discolouration cannot be treated with a simple teeth whitening.
Misaligned teeth: If you don’t want to wear unattractive metal braces to straighten crooked teeth, then dental veneers could be the perfect alternative for you.
Gaps between teeth: Dental veneers can be used to fill in the gaps between teeth, to give you the perfect smile.

Advantages of Dental Veneers
They look and feel just like natural teeth. The porcelain veneers are stain resistant and do not discolour. Dental veneers are durable and long lasting.

Inlays/Onlays Inlays or onlays refer to indirect fillings which are made of a variety of materials including porcelain, gold, and tooth-coloured composite resin that fit into or onto the affected tooth. Its purpose is to make the tooth stronger by holding it together while retaining a natural, esthetically pleasing colour. They are used in instances when there is deficient tooth structure to support a filling but the tooth is still in a condition that does not require a crown. The advantage that porcelain inlays or onlays have over gold inlays or onlays is its aesthetic value.

CROWNS Strengthening your teeth and improving their appearance. Dental crowns protect damaged, cracked and worn teeth, as well as restore root filled teeth, which are non-viatal and brittle. A dental crown is a tooth shaped cap constructed from porcelain that is bonded over a tooth, covering it to improve its appearance and to restore its shape, size and strength.  In the case of root filled teeth they have a protective function as they avoid the teeth from fracturing, which if vertical can lead to tooth loss.

The benefits of dental crowns Porcelain crowns or dental crowns protect the entire surface from any further decay, damage or erosion. They also improve the aesthetics of your teeth. When teeth need strengthening dental crowns may be the treatment for you.

When a dental crown may be needed After root canal treatment a dental dental crown may be fitted. If significant decay has damaged the tooth and not enough tooth is left. Dental crowns are best at protecting teeth. A dental crown is then a great choice to restore the tooth. Like above if the tooth is badly worn from erosion or grinding then a dental crown may be the only option to preserve and restore the existing tooth. For cosmetic reasons porcelain crowns can enhance the appearance of you teeth.

How long do dental crowns last? Dental crowns require the same level of care and attention as your natural teeth. Providing you maintain a good oral hygiene routine, good diet and attend regular dental check-ups, a high quality dental crown can last 10-15 years or longer.
